Who We Are…

Bear Creek Community Church is located adjacent to Bear Creek Park,  in beautiful Surrey, British Columbia.    We are a part of a larger family of churches called the Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada.         

Our Congregation…

Bear Creek Church had its beginning nineteen years ago as three separate churches (Surrey Neighbourhood Church, Grace Evangelistic Church, and New Life Community Church). On April 1, 1994 we united to become one family in Christ.

We are located in the heart of Surrey, a very multi-cultural, economically diverse community and are striving to become a church family that reflects that diversity. Our diverse denominational background has led us to a more centrist theological approach, thereby adhering to the unity in essentials, liberty in non-essentials and grace in all things.        

Our Vision… 

Our vision is to have a passion for God and a compassion for our community. 

We believe that it is God’s will for Bear Creek Church to live out a missional mandate on a daily basis. This means that as a church family we will seek to make the world more loving and just through spiritually transforming the lives of our neighbors (locally and globally). While deeply caring for the needs of one another, we want to be externally focused, mobilizing our church family to be received, accepted, caught, embraced and trusted by our neighbors. Thus, it is our desire here at Bear Creek Church to seek to understand the neighbors that surround us, and then to equip our family with the skills needed to be received by them.

Bear Creek Punjabi Christian Centre

The Punjabi Christian Centre is a unique campus church of Bear Creek Community Church.  We offer a Christian worship service in the Punjabi language every Sunday morning at 10am in our basement chapel.  Binder Mahil is the Pastor of this community church which serves the Indo-Canadian population through Surrey.

Our Community Centre… 

The Vancouver Global Mission Church reaches our Korean population.

The Bear Creek Children’s Centre Daycare operates in our building Monday to Friday, offering service to parents of children 30 months to five years of age.

Cornerstone Montessori School holds preschool classes Monday-Friday from September to June.    

Our Morning Worship Celebrations @ 10am…

Our Creative Worship celebration begins Sunday mornings at 10am.  Come as you are and be prepared to sing-along with one of our contemporary worship bands as they lead you to experience God’s presence.  Our celebrations may be lively, meditative, introspective, and at times very interactive yet always Christ centered. 

The mornings may include liturgical readings, a children’s choir, a drama and video presentation.  The messages will be passionately delivered with practical teaching from God’s Word using both exegetical and topical formats.  Expect messages that will enable one to live-out their Christian worldview on a daily basis using the theology, ethics, philosophy and at times apologetics (defence of ones faith). 

Children are very important to us and stay in the services for our worship in song and then are excused to attend their own service planned just for them.
